I am married to my best friend Jared and we have three boisterous little boys, who fill up our days with laughs. Besides photography, I love coffee and crochet projects.
In photography projects, I look for details. I seek to show the beauty in both the extraordinary and the mundane. I enjoy documentary photography and I watch for magical moments to happen.
My current gear consists of Fuji equipment. I have a couple of flashes but but natural light photography is where it is for me. When I am feeling particularly artsy I throw on the Minolta MD Rokkor-X 50mm f1.4 lens my parents gave me.
My Photo Journey
Photography began for me in 2011, at the encouragement of my husband, Jared. Early in my photography journey, I discovered a love and fascination for documentary photography. I prefer to catch moments candidly– the emotion behind a special moment as it happens is pricelessly captured in documentary photography. I don’t pretend to be a “fly on the wall,” as I believe the presence of a camera automatically changes the dynamic of a story. I do, however, believe in letting stories unfold as naturally as possible for the camera.
I love portrait photography and weddings! Maternity, newborn, senior, and family sessions are all wonderful ways to document your family’s special moments. It is a privilege to work on these types of projects.
I love black and white photography and I want to play more with abstract photography. Some of my favorite shots have been in abstract work but I am rarely brave enough to post them.
In non-photog endeavors, I crochet mostly blankets and shrugs. I am definitely a granny square girl.
I am currently developing a “day in the life” extended session for families, to capture candid moments at home. Ask me about it I look forward to helping you capture your magical moments. Get in touch and let’s talk about capturing your memories!
