I am married to my best friend Jared and we have three boisterous little boys, who fill up my days with laughs. Besides photography, I love crochet, coffee, going to the beach, and journaling right on regular paper.
In photography projects, I look for details. I seek to show the beauty in both the extraordinary and the mundane. I enjoy documentary photography and I sit back and watch for magical moments to happen.
My Photo Journey
Photography began as a coping mechanism for me in 2011 as a way to deal with depression, at the strong encouragement of my husband, Jared. Early in my photography journey, I discovered a love and fascination for documentary photography. I prefer to catch moments candidly– the emotion behind a special moment as it happens is pricelessly captured in documentary photography. I don’t pretend to be a “fly on the wall,” as I believe the presence of a camera automatically changes the dynamic of a story. I do, however, believe in letting stories unfold as naturally as possible for the camera.
When I am not working on photography projects or spending time with my family, I blog about real life– depression struggles, photography experiments, homemaking, and parenting– at Tickle the Sun.
I look forward to helping you capture some of your magical moments!
